General Questions
What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary travels to a mutually agreed-upon location, such as a residence, business, hospital, assisted living facility, or another convenient meeting place to perform notarizations.
What types of documents can be notarized?
Common documents include affidavits, acknowledgments, jurats, powers of attorney, healthcare documents, school forms, travel consent forms, business documents, and other eligible notarial requests.
Can you provide legal advice or help me complete my document?
No. Adams Notary Services, LLC is not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice, explain legal documents, prepare legal documents, or advise whether you should sign a document.
What is the difference between a notary public and an attorney?
A New Jersey Notary Public verifies identity, witnesses signatures, administers oaths, and performs other authorized notarial acts. A notary cannot provide legal advice unless separately licensed as an attorney.
Why do documents need to be notarized?
Notarization helps deter fraud by verifying the identity of the signer, confirming willingness to sign, and creating confidence that documents have been properly executed.
Preparing for Your Appointment
What should I have ready before my appointment?
Have your unsigned documents, valid government-issued photo ID, any required witnesses, and all signers present before the appointment begins.
Should I sign my document before the appointment?
No. Please do not sign the document before meeting with the notary. Documents that require notarization usually need to be signed in the notary’s presence.
What identification do I need?
Please have a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID available at the time of your appointment.
Do all signers need to be present?
Yes. Each person whose signature needs to be notarized must be present, willing to sign, and able to provide acceptable identification.
What if my document requires witnesses?
Some documents require witnesses in addition to notarization. If your document requires witnesses, please let us know when requesting your appointment so availability and options can be reviewed.
What if my document has blank spaces?
Documents should generally be complete before notarization. The notary may refuse incomplete documents or documents containing significant blank sections. If you have questions about completing a document, please contact the person or organization that prepared it.
Why don’t you ask for my full address on the request form?
We value your privacy and only collect the information needed to evaluate your request. If your appointment is scheduled, we’ll obtain the exact address during the confirmation process.

What happens after I submit the request form?
Submitting the form starts the scheduling process. Adams Notary Services, LLC will review your request, confirm whether the service can be provided, discuss any applicable travel or service-related fees, and finalize the appointment details with you directly.
Is my appointment confirmed when I submit the request form?
No. Your appointment is not confirmed until Stephanie contacts you directly and confirms the appointment details.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Same-day appointments may be available depending on scheduling, location, service type, and document requirements. Please submit a request or call to confirm availability.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes. Evening and weekend appointments may be available based on scheduling, location, and service type.
Which areas do you serve?
It depends on the service. Mobile Notary and Hospital & Care Facility Notary Services are available by appointment throughout Northern New Jersey. Remote Online Notarization may be available nationwide for eligible documents.
Can you come to my home, office, hospital, or care facility?
Yes. Mobile appointments may be available at homes, offices, hospitals, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, hospice facilities, and other agreed-upon locations.
Fees & Payment
How much does notarization cost?
New Jersey notarial fees are charged in accordance with state law. Additional travel and service-related fees may apply depending on appointment location, timing, and requested services. You’ll receive a quote before your appointment is confirmed.
When will I know the total cost?
You’ll receive a complete quote, including any applicable travel or service-related fees, before your appointment is confirmed.
Is there a travel fee for mobile appointments?
Mobile appointments may include a travel-related fee based on location, distance, timing, and availability. Any applicable travel fee will be reviewed before your appointment is confirmed.
What payment methods do you accept?
Accepted payment methods will be reviewed when your appointment is confirmed.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Travel fees may still apply if travel has already begun.
Remote Online Notarization
What is Remote Online Notarization?
Remote Online Notarization allows eligible documents to be notarized online using secure identity verification and live audio-video technology.
What do I need for a Remote Online Notarization appointment?
You will generally need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection, camera, microphone, and valid government-issued photo identification.
Is Remote Online Notarization legally valid?
Yes. Remote Online Notarization performed in accordance with applicable law is legally recognized for eligible documents.
Can every document be notarized online?
No. Some documents are not eligible for Remote Online Notarization. Eligibility depends on applicable law and the type of document.
Can I use my phone for an online notarization?
In many cases, yes, provided your phone has a camera, microphone, reliable internet connection, and meets the requirements of the online notarization platform.
